The
School of Business and Technology at Excelsior College is seeking candidates for the position of Faculty - Technology. Excelsior

Qualifications: A Master’s in Technology related field is required, a PhD is preferred.
Interdisciplinary background in technology is helpful. A minimum of five years of progressive experience at a regionally
accredited institution of higher education, and/or five years of experience as an administrative leader in a major business
or industry corporation. Experience in distance education and online course management systems is desirable. Experience
teaching and developing online courses with Blackboard required, WebCT experience preferred. Software experience required:
Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes. Excellent organizational as well as oral and written communication skills, with the ability

Excelsior College is seeking candidates for the position
of Director of Faculty Development and Support. Excelsior College is a leader in the field of alternative higher education.

The Director
of Faculty Development and Support reports to the Associate Provost. This position will lead efforts to support all Excelsior
College faculty (on and off site employees as well as adjunct faculty) by coordinating and delivering faculty development

for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment by creating a vision and a strategic plan for the Center. The director

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee, deliver and evaluate the EFT 101, the mandatory orientation
for faculty teaching EC online courses. • Oversee the development and administration of EFT 102, the mandatory
orientation for new subject matter experts developing EC online courses. • Recruit, manage and evaluate instructors
for EFT 101 and EFT 102. • Develop an annual needs assessment to guide planning for faculty development activities (face-to-face
and virtual). • Develop an annual faculty development plan that is responsive to the needs assessment and that supports college
goals and priorities. • Implement college-wide faculty development and support activities, including a series of
faculty development webinars, face-to-face workshops with faculty program directors, and email communiqués on pertinent topics. Recruit and evaluate facilitators to teach the faculty development
webinars. • Support deans and faculty program directors in their efforts to retain highly effective instructional faculty
members. • In cooperation with Faculty Program Directors and OELS develop and maintain an electronic manual for course
development for use by Subject Matter Experts and others. • Oversee the EC Faculty/Student Conference Support plan and other faculty
support initiatives • Manage awards for excellence in course development and teaching as well as test development
and clinical evaluation. • Encourage the scholarship of teaching and learning in distance education programs by working
with instructional faculty and others on online classroom-based research projects and development of resources on the Faculty Support Center. • Create opportunities for faculty to network
and exchange ideas with faculty/staff colleagues on issues central to excellence in teaching and learning at Excelsior • Create
a communication plan for faculty to network using social media • Manage the development of the faculty support
services • Create opportunities for faculty to engage in scholarly activities • Serve on college-wide committees including

Instructional Designer
Excelsior College, a private, independently chartered institution and recognized leader in the field of

The
Instructional Designer will work with College faculty to design distance learning courses, and adapt existing and develop
new courses for Web-based and/or video streaming delivery. Through collaboration with College staff and faculty, this position

ensure that course deployment deadlines are met. Additional responsibilities include designing and facilitating workshops

application of learning theories, instructional design, outcomes-based assessment and their successful implementation in an
on-line format. This position also requires proven study and experience in a science and/or technology field.
Prior college teaching experiences a plus. Candidate must have ability to work independently as well as in a
team environment and possess multimedia project management skills, including ability to juggle multiple projects and meet
deadlines. Prior experience with course management systems (specifically WebCT) and a variety of presentation and authoring
software, including Adobe Presenter, Captivate, Dreamweaver, Flash, Adobe Suite, Final Cut, Acrobat Connect Pro, and Photoshop
needed. Excellent oral and written communication skills also required. Expertise in course design and development and creating
instructional materials to support faculty at-a-distance. Experience designing and implementing systems to support faculty

The Chair of the Department

private studio. While the main responsibility of this position will be studio voice, other teaching assignments in either

The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications seeks an experienced
scholar for the position of Newhouse Professor, an endowed chair, beginning in fall, 2009, to conduct research and teach in
his/her area of specialty. The position carries the expectation of active involvement in the School's doctoral program, and
the ability to support the scholarly profile of the School by complementing and extending existing faculty strengths.
The successful applicant will have an international scholarly reputation appropriate to the rank of Professor,
with an exceptional, ongoing research agenda. S/he will have a track record of dedicated teaching, and considerable experience
mentoring graduate students and advising doctoral dissertations and master's theses. Desired areas of specialization include,
but are not limited to, the digital media environment or international communications. All methodological approaches are welcome.
A Ph.D. in mass communications or a related field is required.
